SUGAR DISSOLVING UNIT FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE PREPARATION
Simple syrup, or white syrup, has applications in both the food and beverage industries. In fact, the sugar solution is one of the main ingredients in the production of various types of beverages, including carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, energy drinks, iced tea, malt drinks and pre-mixed cocktails.
Sugar dissolution is one of the first steps in the preparation of beverages and can be carried out by means of a batch system or a continuous system depending on the product to be prepared and its sugar concentration.
Both PRISMATECH’s Batch Dissolver and Continuous Dissolver are suitable for both hot and cold dissolution and can achieve sugar solution concentrations of up to 82°Bx, usually used in candy and sweets production.
These sugar dissolving systems can be easily combined with different dry sugar loading options:
- Loading auger or screw elevator
- “Big bag” structure
- Silos
- Triblender
Batch dissolvers are ideal for small production capacities, allowing the necessary quantity of sugar solution to be prepared. For smaller lines, one dissolving tank is sufficient, while for larger production lines, the needs of the syrup room can be met with two batch dissolvers working alternately for continuous production.
The batch dissolver works on an as-needed basis, making it the most suitable solution for starting with a reduced line in anticipation of future production increases or when producing several varieties of products with a similar brix/sugar solution content.
Continuous dissolver
These dissolution systems are recommended for larger production capacities where continuous production of sugar solution or wider distribution within the syrup room is required.
The PRISMATECH dissolver is equipped with a refractometer to measure the Brix concentration and self-adjust if necessary.
The integration of a storage tank offers greater flexibility in handling different products with variations in sugar content. This solution is particularly recommended for those who need to produce a diverse range of beverages and for those who need to outfeed to several beverage production lines.
Once the sugar solution has been prepared, heat treatment may be required, which can be performed through in-line pasteurisation or sent to a separate pasteuriser.
The high precision of the continuous dissolving system makes it suitable for the production of candies with a high sugar content.
